What is a food drive?
An Annual Food Bank Drive is a charitable event that aims to collect food donations for local food banks, which then distribute the food to people in need. The food drive is typically organized by a community group, charity organization, or business, and it involves collecting non-perishable food items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, and cereal.
The Annual Summer Business Food and Fund Drive is an important event because it provides essential support to people who are struggling to put food on the table. Many families and individuals face food insecurity due to poverty, job loss, illness, or other factors, and the food collected during the drive can help to alleviate some of their struggles. Les Olson IT Partners with the Utah Food Bank, and Three Square Las Vegas for the annual food and funds drive. Les Olson sponsors this vital food and funds drive to replenish the Food Bank’s supplies and funds during the summer to serve our community.
Why summer food drives are important
Summer poses a critical challenge for families grappling with food insecurity as they lose access to school meals. This exacerbates the struggle for those already facing financial hardships, compelling them to navigate ways to ensure their children are adequately nourished. Unfortunately, during this period, donations dwindle significantly. As living expenses surge, families are compelled to make difficult decisions to provide sustenance for their loved ones.
Summer Business Food and Fund Drive starts
June 1st and continues through August 31st.
Get Involved in Our Community
There are several ways that people can contribute to an Annual Food Bank Drive. They can donate food items, volunteer to help with the collection and sorting of donations or make a monetary donation to the food bank. Businesses can also get involved by supporting their local Food Bank by organizing a food drive or sponsoring an event. Les Olson IT organizes a food and funds drive each year.
The Annual Food Bank Drive is a valuable initiative that brings communities together to support those in need. By working together, we can help to ensure that everyone has access to the basic necessities of food.
